>>13339496i caught covid twice and the second time it was MUCH worse. first time felt like i was having a heart attack for about 5 days, mostly chest pressure and chest throbbing, mild cough. none of the loss of taste/smell. this was march 2020
then, i came down with it again early november 2020. same symptoms only much more severe, and they never really stopped. its almost 9 months later now and they are much less intense, but they never really went away, and it developed into "long covid".
i've heard the explanation as to why its worse the second time as that covids replication method involves hijacking your immune cells to replicate, and so when you catch it a second time the increased volume of immune response your body generates essentially gives it more ammo. and as for long covid, the explanation i've heard is that there are left over spike protiens bound to cells throughout your body which continually produce an inflammation response that never really goes away, and depending on which part of your body the spike protiens have most congregated in, that will determine many of the long covid symptoms.
