What makes modular arithmetic, and there by p-adic numbers, so fundamental to number theory?
I get that there are a lot of important results that follow with modular arithmetic, but why would one suspect that it would be so fundamental in the first place. If i don't know the results that follow, I don't think its importance would see that obvious to me.

Can fasting really reduce/cure diabetes?

No.14223530 ViewReplyOriginalReport
My mom just got diabetes after 3rd jab. She is 55 y.o and a little chubby (145 lbs/65kg)
She want to try fasting like my grandparents, who successfully "cured" of diabetes by fasting for 24h/ 3 days a weeks and lived for 20+ more years until they died of accident.
Anyone with diabetes and tried this method? I want to storm brain vefore giving my mom a solid advice.
Thank you.

here are my symptoms
>discomfort in left testicle for several days
>no real pain, at worst its a slight ache and at best theres no discomfort at all
>sitting causes some discomfort but laying down and standing/walking actually relieve discomfort
>no solid lumps in my spermatic cord, although sometimes it feels a bit swollen compared to the other one
>no blood in my urine or semen and no discharge
>having a bit of trouble shitting, usually comes out thin
i believe its either epiditymitis or prostatitis, but my opinion is influenced by my desire for it to be nothing more serious than those two

This is not a ratio and if you treat it as such you are a brainlet.

This is an operator ("d/dx") acting on a function (y)

("dy") is not a distance because it is not a number, you can not calculate an "infinitesimal" and if you think of it as "rise over run" you are a stupid brainlet, it is an infinitessimal lipschitz constant

I shouldnt have to tell you this, but you are a monkey.

>you WILL guess the last digit on a measurement made by the $20000 piece of precision equipment you need an SSN, fingerprints, retina scan, and anal prints to access in the university (it's definitely not accurate and can't be trusted)
>w-what? no. that decimal you cut off after multiplying in the first calculation definitely isn't the reason you yielded much more than expected
>cant round numbers at your own discretion based on the size and nature of the reaction taking place
>sorry bud, but if you multiply 4.5039 times 2.5 it actually equals just 11, not 11.25975
>what the fuck are you doing? 0.2500000001 has ten significant figures. you can't round it to 0.25 even though it's gonna get cut off in the next calculation
>yeah that scale measured 10.5 grams, but you gotta write 10.50. no you can't write 10.5 +/- 0.01 that's not SCIENCE
>w-what? no we're definitely not introducing this complicated rounding system first thing in beginners chemistry and forgetting about it for 2-3 weeks while we teach atomic structure, the periodic table, and ions so the masses immediately hate chemistry and never try to figure out the wide variety of explosives, acids, poisons, gases, materials, and drugs you can make with chemicals from home depot, pharmacies, and commercial supply stores
Why the fuck did this ever become a standard?

>Witten is both deep and fast: After thinking through the ideas, he can compose an essentially error-free 100-page manuscript, often describing breakthrough original research, on his computer in a day.

>In 1987 Michael Green and I coauthored a monograph entitled “Superstring Theory’’ with Witten. We were thrilled that Witten agreed to join us, since we knew that his contributions would greatly improve the final product. This work, consisting of more than 1,000 pages packed with equations, was completed in nine months. For Green and me this required dedicating 100-hour workweeks to the project. Witten, on the other hand, was able to do his share while completing several major research projects at the same time.

Jesus fuck, imagine if everyone on Earth were this smart. We could make it happen. We should.
