I TA a math class at a large university and since COVID pushed everything online (even though we are allowed to be in classrooms again for a while now) there are no lectures or tutorials or any interaction with someone who actually knows the material unless you go to understaffed office hours.
There are stick-in-ass TAs who search for every assignment on chegg and report the three or four people who submit it, and pay careful attention to all of the 200 homework sheets they grade to see if anyone copied off each other, but if we're not actually providing these kids any education I don't see any reason to expect them not to copy stuff off the Internet
