Food for thought

No.14344695 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Can we follow the logic that dark matter being 75% of all existing matter means that it follows logical sense is possible for them to develop, atoms, chemical reactions, stars, planets and eventually develop intelligent life, made of dark matter we can't totally see or feel?

Is that correct?

Would they eventually wonder where 15% of the matter is missing from their universe?

Maybe also, our universe is just the antimatter small one and theirs is the real one.

Eugene Wigners fundamental particle classification

No.14344949 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Physicist like to say that fundamental particles are represented by irreducible representations of the Lorentz group, which are particular realizations of this group indexed by some key quantum numbers like spin.
Can someone break this down for me? Are all irreducible representations of the lorentz group associated to some particle, why is it so and how many particles there are so? There are potentially infinite irreducible representations, but i only hear about photons and electrons

Anyone else do single and multivariable calculus in highschool?

No.14344835 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Several CS BSc in my country doesn't have Calculus because we have to do single and multivariable calculus in HS and get a really good grade to get into these programs. We have to choose three subjects for the last 2 years of high school and learn them in depth. Many CS courses require Math and Physics as a prerequisite, and you can do IT, chemistry, or another related subject for the third. We have three-year degrees that cram everything and expect students to learn it fast. We have discreet math in the first semester and linear algebra in the second semester (year one).

I hate this bros. Why can't they make comfy 4-year degrees like USA, and others, where you can enjoy HS and college and learn it well. The graduates of theirs and our programs have the same skills, but you have to deal with exponentially more stress for longer periods to finish a le year earlier. By focusing on depth and expecting students to learn 3 subjects to finish HS, you inevitably create a narrow-minded populace.

"Dagger of meteorite-iron"

What a fucking bullshit sensation shit. The truth is its just iron. Of course a nobelity of egypts gets shit 100 years before its time. This sensation article explains why modern söyence must be killed and we need to return to the 1800's rigourity.

Science research lab destroyed by activists in Seattle, apparently the largest research facility of it's kind in North America.
Might've been a takeout restaurant for cannibals rather than a legit research facility tho, hard to tell from here.
