Firstly, this post is not a pro or anti singularity thread, I am merely asking for your thoughts on the outcome of such an event.

IF the singularity happens, and the given AI or whatever is somehow benevolent towards us,what do we do all day? jack off ? drop acid and listen to music? do we become redundant? I want to hear your thoughts.

why did Chile pass this law?

No.14342230 ViewReplyOriginalReport
it's a law to protect mutants (people who had their genes altered) from discrimination.

I wonder if they're sure there will be a huge amount of people around with modified DNA, as if the COVID gene therapy really altered your DNA. It's even weirder so many countries pushed for discrimination of the pure blooded.

Achieving Immortality

No.14339856 ViewReplyOriginalReport
At some point, you're brain's going to begin deteriorating, and you're going to be surprised to discover there was no household electricity during the time of Jesus, like a friend of mine who was born in 1930 (He still has an adult mind and a fair bit of intelligence, but he occasionally has episodes like that.), but wouldn't it be possible to create a system where a heart attack is unlikely to be fatal? If there's a blockage in the heart, another device would take the place of the heart while the individual is taken to a hospital to remove the blockage and clear out the arteries around the heart. I always wondered why they couldn't just constantly revive someone until I realized you can't just restart a blocked heart. That friend of mine is also beginning to go blind. He only has peripheral vision in one eye. At some point in the near future, bionic eye technology will become advanced enough to give people a general idea of what's in front of them. I imagine he could get a decent bionic eye if he survives the next decade.

What's the future going to look like for life expectancy?
