There's the idea of the "observable universe," in that we can only see what light allows us to see. But wouldn't the unobservable part of the universe have had some effect on the observable part when things were closer together? Is it possible to infer things about the unobservable part of the universe from those effects? I don't know much about astronomy, so if there's a name for what I'm talking about I could read about, that would be enough of an answer for me.

Seems like 90% of geometry is some variant of the Pythagorean theorem. Nothing wrong with it, it's a good theorem. But I want examples of beautiful geometric relationships that people often wouldn't notice.

>Natural selection has to literally step in to fix female preference.
In this case it's just beetles. Female beetles choosing larger and larger males leads both males to be more predated and females to have more masculine bodies, with less space for eggs. Natural selection has to actively revert that.
What are the consequences of this in humans? Why was I led to believe that human women have a sixth sense for selecting what's best for the species?

Scientifically speaking, why do I find it uncomfortable to think about memories involving dangerous and/or close-call situations? Being attacked by strays, almost running somebody over, overdosing on drugs, etc; all these memories are cringe and hard to think about.
Wouldn't id make more sense to go over these situations so they don't happen again?
