Bogus Statistics

No.13659063 ViewReplyOriginalReport
This is what Google gives you when you click on "about this data" underneath the Covid Statistics charts. Seriously, what the fuck? "Probable cases"??? People taking more than one test and still being counted in the statistics??? This is either put together by people who know absolutely nothing about statistics, or by people who are knowingly misrepresenting statistics.

Am I retarded or is this just completely bunk? How are "statistics" supposed to be reliable when some of the information is "probable" and double/triple/etc counted?

Potassium in plant ashes

No.13658450 ViewReplyOriginalReport
People say that when plants are burned you can find potassium carbonate in the ashes. But why is it carbonate and not a chloride or some other compound?
Farmers sometimes use potassium chloride as a fertilizer, why would the ashes be in the carbonate state?

Engineering Physics

No.13659104 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Currently 2nd year Bsc. Was planning on majoring in physics but I'd prefer developing and inventing technology rather than spending my life doing potentially fruitless research. Is it worth potentially spending up to 5-6 years in uni just to swap degrees or should I stick with the Bsc and try and learn engineering on my own (lmao)
