Hello /Sci/ perhaps someone here could provide insight to an issue I have been having with my recent studies in chemistry. I am distilling sulfuric acid outdoors and have used the equipment shown in the picture. The acid gets to a boil and starts to steam but goes straight past the condenser. Most of it leaves the apparatus as steam. I first tried cooling the water in the condenser, then I tried lowering the temperature and removing the aluminum foil insulation. None of these things seemed to have alleviated the issue. What am I doing wrong in this experiment?

For reference I have attached the procedure I was following:

Mask mandates?

No.13682265 ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Should we muzzle everyone, given the spikes in places with high vaccination rates? Or are they pretty much useless and the only way to move forward is through natural immunity now?

Just started grad school

Is it normal for my brain to feel fried every night? I slacked off in undergrad and never put too much effort into studying. Now I'm thinking maybe I haven't been lazy but just retarded all these years. The work itself isn't hard or anything, I just feel like my head is going to explode from studying and having to concentrate on something. Help?
