If we define god as "The creator" then God is simply immaterial, subsequently, god is also incomprehensible, since we can only comprehend things material through the incorporeal rules in our universe, but we cannot extended these rules to the immaterial.
Furthermore, things can only be created by the uncreatable (i.e. the eternal, the constant) because to become created means you weren't always there, so something that is always there, eternal, must create created things.
God is therefore, immaterial, eternal, (unperishable and uncreated / without begining and end) and incomprenhensible amongst other things that you can learn by reading St John of Damascus, Exposition of the Orthodox faith.
