Share your experiences with learning science at a college/university. In my case, it wasn't really anything interesting nor noteworthy. I do however remember this girl that was really bad at most subjects yet she got a pass, which made me feel that the tests would be easy but they really weren't.
How was yours /sci/? Do you think colleges/universities help expand the mind?

Course:
> 99% of the course is written by people who are completely out of touch with industry

Honestly the only reasons to go is if you need the qualification to work somewhere, or if you're a rich kid who doesn't want to work just yet. Other than that it's completely pointless and provides next to zero usable skills excluding some (technical writing, although academic; basic dynamics and statics; maths; what to google and learn from books because your lecturer is fresh off the boat). The only other benefit I found is that the local clubs are essentially whorehouses, which is alright until you've got bored of that

I went to an Ivy League school and the coursework pushed me to my limits. It taught to learn difficult material within a short period of time. I had to develop specific study skills that allowed me to handle the load.

On top of that, when you go to a top school, you develop a network. I've received so many job offers from former classmates who are in start-ups working on cutting-edge tech. However, I chose to settle by taking a comfy job at an aerospace corporation.

desu just talking to a therapist is plenty good enough, but just be warned that if you sperg out and tell them every crazy thing about yourself in the first session they might be more inclined to put you straight on meds.

These people needed help.
They were mislead into thinking transitioning would help.
It doesn't.
It makes their situation worse.
I think last I heard their suicide success rate is about 3%, which is a lot compared to the general public.

My hypothesis is that they tend to already be depressed people, looking for a solution, and when transitioning ends up making things worse, a comparatively high percentage suicide.

I'm generally near sighted but if I stare at something far into the distance it becomes crystal clear.

It's like my eyes need to readjust itself to see far.

Is this normal?

What the fuck is pre calculus? Just use what even high school book you had, then college/university starts with calculus. You have enough "pre-calculus" in most calculus books' first section. Try Calculus, a complete course by Adams and Essex
