Why individuality?

No.14308786 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Why did life grow to allow the formation of seperate entities on not just make itself so that there was only one single entity that’s constantly expanding its mass and domination over earth? Especially if so many species act in such a manner that they could be considered just one life form?

/proj/ - Board Project General: Second Thread.2

No.14305656 ViewReplyOriginalReport
This thread is to see if we as a board can achieve something with our collective efforts.
>Brainstorm ideas
>Post research

Previous Thread >>14283785
Not too much attention but some interest for a 'guide to life/success/overachieving' so far. Give ideas for what you'd like to see in it, the information is by large, just scattered across the internet, youtube, certain sites etc. The challenge is providing something that everyone can take something away from.

Continue brainstorming, contributing...
>Design /sci/ curricula for various subjects to put an end to all those threads.

I'm doing a seminar for my compsci degree and am expected to read ~20 scholarly articles about algorithmic bias and do summaries of them. I don't even know how to approach this shit bros..

How do Phd fags do it? Share me your secrets that allow you to read and internalize hundreds of pages of literature that you don't give a shit about, and then write it all down in a concise manner..

Nosey Neighbours - jealousy towards STEM grads?

No.14308495 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Has anyone here came to acknowledge their non-STEM neighbours (living in European apartment complex) to be too curious for their own good and after reaching/gaining a STEM degree?
Since my completion and doing my home office work I have overheard talk of my neighbours asking themselves how much I make and what I do as a living. Some even staying up late to figure out why my light is burning in my living space area at 3am. Aggressively trying to gander what I am doing. Is this just non-STEM jealousy? I have even heard the word "arrogant" fly around.
My neighbours are janitors, gardeners, cashiers... let's say people who didnt put in enough effort and are now in their mid to late 40s. I have this feeling they don't really understand the difference between arrogance and ambition, because i presume they never had an ambitious fiber in their entire body.
While I was studying they spread around how unfair it was I was granted a scholarship and was able to afford my own apartment.
