MMM (Manned Mars Mission) is never going to happen (with rockets)
If you don't understand why you're NGMI.

Musk is in charge of the National Security Space Launch. He has top level security clearance.
If you don't understand why he's running the mars psyop ur also NGMI.

>>14309526 you're pretty much right OP, a 'manned' mars mission is impractical. However, a womanned one might not be. It's been shown that female mice are more resistant to galactic cosmic ray induced brain damage than male mice. Will post link later, I'm taking a shit right now

>>14309549 that's interesting. i don't see how sending a woman would be better (at this stage) than sending AI though. the only reason to go to mars at all is to collect evidence our star undergoes recurrent nova and to build a deep underground shelter as a backup bugout of human continuity of life when such an event occurs. I guess we could send women after it's built and have them artificially inseminated to restart humanity but a colony of only women doesn't inspire confidence...

Is there a dependency between the size of the dominant species and the gravity on the planet?
Anonymous

>>14308378 so Mars gravity, being 0.375 that of Earth, would increase the size of the dominant species(us?) 2.66 times?
Anonymous
Quoted By:
Probably depends on many other things aswell like atmospheric pressure, tidal force of the moon/s, etc. Also it would affect all the species not just dominant If humans were to travel to mars it would probably take like 500,000years to have compelete different species of humans there (just speculation)

You are given a mathematical expression consisting of multiplication and addition of n unique variables and an arbitrary number of constants. The same variable can repeat multiple times in the expression. What is the fastest way to determine if there exists an assignment of variables for which the expression equals an odd number? You should judge the speed of your method in terms of n.

An expression E has some probability P of being odd, where its variables all have a probability of 1/2 of being odd. When multiplying an expression E1 by an expression E2, the probability the resulting expression is odd is P1 * P2 (it's only odd if E1 and E2 are odd). A similar calculation is done when adding two expressions, except you now add the numerators and multiply the denominators to get the new probability, i.e. (P1n + P2n) / (P1d * P2d). By setting all variables equal to 1/2 and using these rules you will be able to quickly calculate a value for the entire expression. If this value is nonzero then you know there is an assignment that makes it odd.

also, op please post your solution that doesn't expand out the polynomial and also doesn't take 2^n time.

Are red dwarf exoplanets habitables? Theorically they are tidally locked wich one side is eternally day and other is night. I prefer orange, yellow and white-yellow dwarf exoplanets.

If humans were to make home from such exoplanets that are tidaly locked, would we make an effort to make such planets to have a 24hour cycle (if we had the skills to make it so). We probably would

Anyone have any good textbooks?
I responded to a lab position and am getting rly intrigued.

>>14309318 I should have phrased that differently - what data types will you be working with? CyTOF? Flow? Expression data? Mass Spec?
Also, are you a biology student looking to learn how to use a computer, or are you a computer science student looking to learn biology?

>>14309346 If you want to become more familiar with the nuts and bolts of commonly used algorithms in bioinformatics, run through some Rosalind exercises. It's not strictly necessary, but it's good to know what's happening to your data.
https://rosalind.info/problems/list-view/ You'll likely be performing some differential expression analysis, so this will involve trimming and mapping/assembling your reads and then mapping reads back to your HERV database. Find some papers that look at expression data and HERVs and try and walk through what they did. You may need access to a decent computer depending on the size/complexity of your dataset.

How much of a threat is this shit to your health?
It's in all kinds of shit, including household products. It's in fucking DENTAL FLOSS that you put in your mouth (Glide). It's in potato chip bags.
It's in water all over the world. it's in your blood. It's in mothers' breast milk. This shit is fucking EVERYWHERE like microplastics.
Is it worth it to try to avoid products that contain it at this point?
Will it lead to the extinction of the human race? (It's an endocrine disruptor, reduces sperm count, increases cancer risk, etc.)

there's an uncountable number of different pollutants we've filled the world with that fuck with our health, but just think of it as evolutionary pressure, the pressure isn't so bad that it will kill us off so far, it will merely make things painful for a while
