I recently started taking math seriously and starting to really enjoy it at age 25. I can graduate with my math degree next spring but what I really want to do is go to graduate school for physics. I've been learning it on my own, making good progress. If I want to start with a Master's do I need to take a bunch of undergrad courses first? I don't want to take a bunch of courses with freshmen or sophomores at this point. I'm breezing through the basics and I want to take the physics GRE this fall. A good score on that + math degree should give me a chance at a Master's program?

The Science Behind Brainwashing

No.14306874 ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Whats the science behind political brainwashing, how does it all work? Lets say you wanted to brainwash someone in to agreeing to your harmful, expensive and otherwise unwanted government policies, how would you do it? My pet theory on the topic would be that is you could send the subject to brainwashing camp every weekday from age 5 to age 18, you might be able to eventually convince a large enough proportion of the population to have the necessary effect, some of the dumber ones or maybe some Stockholm syndrome types might require further brainwashing to keep the system going perpetually, but I think for most a dozen or so years before age 18 should do the trick.
What does /sci/ think about my theory, do you have any alternative theories?

Any studies that discredit race-mixing as a healthy endeavor?

Post studies, not infographs. I need direct links and I'm curious if there is a genuine counter-narrative.

I am bound my the limitations of my working memory. Without constant attention anything I learn I forget in a few seconds. Every second of my learning is a torturous decision between forgetting what I have just read to remember what I am looking at now, or holding onto the start and never learning beyond the first few pages.

I don't believe exercise is healthy

No.14313159 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I don't believe damaging your muscles to achieve hypertrophy is healthy. I don't believe raising your heart rate to excessive levels is healthy. I don't believe that putting excessive strain on your legs is healthy.
I do not care if science says I'm wrong. This is just common sense to me. Gym goers are junkies addicted to destroying their body, they will all die early.
