Why is it that humans evolved sight as our greatest sense rather than any other of the others? Are eyes the best sensory organ for navigating trees and then being carnivorous just strengthened it further?

>perticipitate product after reaction by diluted ammonia
>filter off a lot of solid product
>wash the product with cold water or diluted ammonia
>it fucking dissolves all and reperticipitates in the filtrate
Wtf is happening? Ammonia cant deprotonate any of the hydrogens, right?
Do I need to make sure the pH is 7-8? How would I go about doing that, check pH after every drop of ammonia, use indicator?
