Whenever we have a discussion about aliens, it always ends up being more science fiction than actually science. There's this myth that so many people believe nowadays how there's these billions of worlds for humans to just colonize when in reality 99% of space is inhabitable and extremely lethal to life.
I honestly blame the scientific community for this, they wanted to get normies interested in science by creating a lie that half true. They told normies that there's billions of "earth like" planets out there but never explaining what they mean by "earth like".
They really just mean that there's billions of planets that aren't too hot or cold. If you know anything about the history of earth, you would know that millions of things needed to go right that we can't control just for us to be here today, it wasn't just the planet temperature. It's really just a game of chance, we're alive today until our luck runs out since we don't have any real control on our lives.
It absolutely blows my mind how many conspiracy theorists, antivaxxers, and other far right retards there are in America. I always knew that the Republican party and flyover states have way more power than they should, but I never really understood that like half of the country are illiterate, fearmongering conspiracy theorists that could single handedly lead our country to literal collapse during a pandemic.
Even on this board, which is supposed to be dedicated to science, there is a good portion of the population who thinks they know more about medicine and biology than actual doctors. I dont understand how we are going to build modern civilization and overcome climate change, epidemics, religious fundamentalism, inequality, etc. if half of Americans are illiterate rednecks that don't even believe in that stuff, let alone care about it. The great filter is here. Ideological extremism, nationalism, conspiracy theorists, etc. are the great filter. This is how it all ends. A bunch of retards bitching about 'muh freedom' and 'muh microchips' and 'muh globalism' as literally millions upon millions of people are getting infected with a deadly virus.

Imagine the following
A room with 100 terrariums. 50 on one side 50 on the other side. Each with a snake inside that eat mice.
On day zero I fill each tank with 20 mice. When a tank is down to its last few mice it is observed and whenever a tank gets down to a single mice that mice is removed from the tank and is taken to the breeding cage.
The 50 tanks on the left and the 50 tanks on the right are for 50 female champions and 50 male champions.
These champions will be paired off into a cage of 2 mice. One male champion mice and one female champion mice. All 50 pairs will then create children.
These mice will be used for the next generation.
Rinse and repeat. Only the champion of champions will be allowed to breed the third generation and so forth.
Evantually if I just keep doing this how long before I evolve a new species of snake evading/killing mice?
