He responded that it could be cool because of experiencing zero g, to which I pointed out that this can be achieved with freefall in a plane and he said something like "yeah but there's a line where the gravity stops affecting you". I was stunned at this and had to reiterate that zero g, even in orbit, is simply because an object is in freefall, not because it has escaped the reach of gravity.
