How does one achieve this type of rendering in digital art? Can you recommend some resources, preferably other than memes?
What would the layers even look like?

TL;DR: Where did you start when you decided to get drawing?

Looks like I'm set to start drawing and hopefully get better: I have enough paper laying around to draft and sketch for years, a Surface Pro and a Pinterest account filled with references, inspiration and drawings tutorials, and a support to hold my tablet so I can browse through pics comfortably while I draw.

The fuck do I do? Setting yourself 1 minute of drawing per day is a good, but 1 minute of drawing what? Lines and circles? Anatomically correct base bodies? Real life shit? Whatever I feel like drawing? My kinks?

I guess the question should rather be: how do you get started when you have heard so many different advice you end up having no idea where to start? I guess it's about working up the courage, but what if I start at the wrong place? Anyone's ever felt like that?

How do I unlearn drawing in an anime style?

No.6023836 ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
I need help (pic related) so what got me into drawing was anime, grew up with it as a kid and I wanted to replicate the style, but after reading this article I'm scared if I continue I'll chop my dick off

So what do I need to do to no longer draw in this art style and go for a western/realistic art style so I can remain a male as well follow my love for art?

What was the last version of Photoshop that worked well for you?

For me, it was probably CC 2019. My laptop is from 2018 and I'm guessing they stopped supporting the GPUs after that. 2019 is also the last time I could draw a line and not have it shoelace at the end. Not to mention a small, barely perceptible yet annoying lag. It probably doesn't help that I'm using an Intuos Pro from 2013 (PTH-651).

Adobe allows you to download past versions, but the oldest one they over is 22.0 I think, which is too new.

Luckily I found CC 2019 online and the only real problem was having to do the PSUserConfig.

I guess my point is that it's crazy how Adobe is so unaccommodating to people who's hardware is more than a few years old.

Good Drawing/Animation Courses

No.6023083 ViewReplyOriginalReport
So a couple of weeks ago i started using Pic Related to finally develop my interest in drawing. I'm fully commited to improving so i'm still on the lookout for good guides and courses that can help out in my drawing/animation journey. Udemy has a sale going on right now and i was wondering if there were some good courses there. I feel like drawing itself i can work out with the resources i have, but i'm pretty sure there are lots of tricks to animating that would probably pass me by unless i saw them in action, so i'd appreciate good 2D Animation courses, really. Also, what software would you guys say is the current best for Animating? Is it still ToonBoom? Or should i learn After Effects? Maybe something else?
