I found this while looking for a way to easily build my own archive of art for study/references and a STEMfren helped me to run it. I'd like to share because I doubt there's a quicker and easier way to do it. If you know one then let me know.

It took two days for the script to collect all the metadata of over 5 thousand artists, but you can just download mine:

You will need to have Python installed to run it.
To run:
1. Download & unpack the release from github
2. Unpack the files from my archive and merge the folders
3. Edit my download.bat file with the path to python.exe on your drive
4. Edit the artists.json file in /wikiart-saved/meta and paste the artists you want to download from the artists.json in the main folder (you can download all, but that would end up weighing hundreds of GBs and probably take many days)
5. Run download.bat
6. Files will be saved to wikiart-saved/images/artist-name
You're also welcome to share any cool artists whose works are on WikiArt in this thread.
