This isn’t a very workable qualifier.
Ultimately I think the openai lead said something self-congratulatory and needlessly indulgent but otherwise innocuous, except it’s on brand for both the CEO and musk’s vague AI alarmism rhetoric.
We are at neither the scale nor theoretical understanding to make bold claims about whether or not current deep learning techniques create thinking systems. The stupid tweet would be inconsequential if AI weren’t so sensationalized in the first place.

I mean if the backlash is any indication, mainstream ML researchers don’t think what they’re making is conscious or could pass as conscious.
ML isn’t about automating reasoning as much as it’s about curating input and training specific architectures in order to converge to expected behavior ASAP. This is a super concrete problem, but people make it out to be more than it is

You know, I never really thought of it but the only heavy hitters I know from Harvard and Yale are in business and law. Then they have a bunch of famous people in the humanities like writers and historians.
With, MIT and Princeton however I know a lot of scientists.

But I have a math, physics and computer science bias.

This is it. It obviously has some Nobel prizes and Fields medalists, but when you look for the ENORMOUS historical names that changed the subject forever or opened the door to new areas of research there isn't really anybody like a Lebesgue that a lot of other world top 100 universities have.

I am really good at solving problems which require visualization without making graphs/sketches, i.e I can think about a lot of mathematical concepts in a visual-style way in my head.

It's not just the money. Vodka is simply more convenient. You can mix it with anything you want to get custom booze at custom concentration for your application, and it comes in a nice easy-to-carry package. Compare to having to lug crates of beer around.

Most people are addicted to social aspect and the state of mind that light drunkenness provides.
