Bering Strait bridge

No.14287945 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Current war aside, would a transcontinental Bering Strait bridge and railway linking Alaska and Siberia be a good idea?

Is your memory shot like mine?

I used to be able to read or do problems of 1 chapter and remember all the key definitions or ideas (e.g. axioms of a group, chain rule, etc) and never have to look at it again. Now I wake up the day after reading, go back, and can't remember shit I did yesterday.

Technically it isn't a problem because I can roughly remember 'that theorem I read a bit ago might help' when doing problems - but how do I fix my fucked up brain.

Is it using technology too much?

Does anyone on this board use any of the scripting languages that feed into ARCGIS or other, I'm doing some system design for a field project and I want to kind of quantify just how much processing power I can save by managing my files outside of ARC potentially even creating the shapefiles on the tablets that record data.

The field data is trackfiles which would need to be lightly rinsed or concatenated before being formatted as the vertices of shapefile polygons.

I've seen boomer's just throw everything into ARC to make the smallest changes to the trackfiles to make the shapes cleaner and it strikes me as extremely wasteful of ARC resources especially at scale.

Cheers.,

Shockwave question

No.14287195 ViewReplyOriginalReport
The effect of the shockwave from a high explosive detonation on the human body would be like plunging someone to the bottom of the ocean for a split second, the pressure bursts any air filled organs, such as the bowels or lungs

How true is this?
