What does /sci/ think of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) AKA electroshock therapy?

Can it actually help with mental disorders, or does it simply induce seizures that damage the physiology of the brain?

the job market for ecology and wildlife jobs is fucking disgraceful
>retail level wages
>temporary employment but full time hours (no benefits or stability)
>outdoor work environment (dangerous)
>located in the of the middle of nowhere
>require expertise in specific animal or organism, prior work history in this specific job
>need to use your brain but also physical labor
>long work hours, some require weekends, some require traveling/overnight
>asking for a COVER LETTER
>majority want people in the local area
this feels criminal. don't get a degree in this unless you have a gis certification or plan on getting a phd.

For the first one, I assume that the core does benefit from branch prediction because branch prediction will improve the flow of the pipeline. But I'm not sure.
