I believed I was smart. I self-taught myself a lot of things when I was young. I remember teaching myself trig in 6th grade (took me a couple of months and I found it difficult but I did it) and I taught myself calculus to read the FLP in 8th grade. I learnt pretty much all of high school physics before 10th and I started learning undergraduate physics, I worked my way through Morin's classical mechanics book.
But you know what? The stuff that I took weeks to learn early was mastered by my friends within a couple of days. The gap between my friends' knowledge and my knowledge turned close to 0 within two years. I'm not smarter than them, they can do everything I can do. I just wasted years learning shit they learnt in weeks. Fuck my life, I should've wasted more time having fun in school.

Had something similar. Except it started out with me finding out about lip-reading and realizing that if I silently say something, someone might still be able to read my lips and over time devolved into "if I think about something with my moth open, someone might be able to read my thoughts"
The funnies part is, that the conditioning is embedded so deeply, that I to this day instinctively check if my moth is closed whenever I think about some secret.

I'm currently taking multivariate calc, along with linear algebra, and some physics/CS courses in college, but the math classes feel very slow. Can anyone recommend any math books I can study on my own time so I can progress faster. Or would that be useless because I'll probably learn it in college at some point anyways?

It can also help to practice your other assignments so you have a fixed understanding of what you need to know in case your course accelerates what’s being taught

You're right in that the Y chromosome has been shrinking but I don't think males are going anywhere. I can't speak for other species but as long as females exist, males will also exist and vice versa. Penis and vagina is just too powerful of a duo to do away with. Like try to name a better duo.
