can someone explain to me how physicists are so confident in their models when there is constantly more and more shit they discover that breaks the models entirely and they just invent some new term in the equation and call it a day.
like how much do you need to break the model by before you develop a really groundbreaking new approach

What's the math for beta radiation and DNA damage? I figure I'd place some seeds near a radiation source for x time, and see what grows out of them.

Seems probably easier than trying to build some custom UV set-up or something.
