What I mean by "educate" is not some arrogant thing, but it feels like the appropriate word to use--it was never an active debate, I was only presenting facts. I don't see how that somehow makes me a jerk or something.
It only makes sense in a way as well.
If you are having a "debate" it's probably because neither side has enough information where it could be definitively decided that one is correct.
It's like in Sun Tzu's Art of War, the biggest principle in war strategy is to not fight a battle unless you will win. In our situation, it means being properly educated yourself on the subject, if you are more knowledgeable than your opponent in the way that you should be before approach a debate, it won't be a debate at all, you'll just just tell and show the other side what is up.
I'm perfectly OK with the idea that I may have faults, but it doesn't change the fact that I've done this for years and I've never seen a debate work, presentation works. Not on everyone, but all you have to do is convince some to convince others.
I think it's not constructive as well for us in this thread to attempt to criticize me personally, given that nobody knows who I am and I would be inclined to not see my own sin anyway if it was there.
