>If you don’t think the world came from an explosion, you’re an idiot >If you don’t think that the whole universe was crammed into a dot smaller than a page, you’re an idiot >If you don’t think life came out of nowhere, you’re an idiot and you deny science
You can’t win against this.
>growing antibiotics resistance >depletion of groundwater acquifers >rising sea levels and land erosion allowing saltwater to seep into groundwater deposits >rivers drying up as mountain glaciers melt completely >desertification of former arable land >global warming threatening crop yields >shifting rain patterns >pollinator extinction >rising CO2 levels reducing cognitive ability >ocean acidification and warming >stronger and more frequent storms >rapid depletion of strategic resources >falling sperm counts >microplastics pollution
And that's hardly the full list. How much time does industrial civilisation have left?
Is university a whole, big scam?
I really don't understand why I'm enrolled other than for the degree itself.
I actually think typical math lectures are holding me back more than anything.
I'd rather go at my own pace and have the time to check theorems, definitions and proof with examples I come up with myself and do problems after a sub-chapter.
A textbook is far better suited for that.
In the end it's a wasted 90 minutes where I learned nothing.
Same goes for other lectures like programming or even physics.
>medical "science": you need to take the vaccine to preserve the health of your community >also medical "science": we can't be bothered to learn how to administer an injection correctly to preserve the health of your community, so instead we're going to accidentally murder tens of thousands of people out of callousness and ignorance of our own science.
What are some technologies or breakthroughs of any kind in medicine, physics, optics, potentially computer science you'd like to see developed?
Already completed:
Tachyon generation/receiving
Fusion power
Cancer cure
Migraine cure
Purpose of sleep/function of dreams
Cause of Havana Syndrome
Using AI to delouse computer systems
So if it's something OTHER THAN this stuff, let me know and if it can't be done, I'll let you know straight out if possible, and if it's in the range of possibility I'll start working on it and we'll leave it in the usual place.
