Leaky waning vaccine during pandemic = not such good idea

No.13658531 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I am vaccinated with Moderna 2x. I'm not an antivax, but I'm questioning the strategy.

Seems like it is a legitimately bad idea to half-ass roll out a leaky vaccine that wanes with time in the middle of a pandemic. You inevitably create evolutionary pressure for the virus and variants to avoid the vaccine, maybe be more contagious and may or may not be more deadly. Same way that if everyone take antibiotics you make antibiotics resistant bacteria.

On the contrary, if you hoard the vaccine, until a D-Day when the whole world is suddenly vaccinated at once then you create herd immunity that might stamp out the virus. Else, you just let the virus to evolve into more benign endemic version, as if the virus is too aggressive it would JUST'ed its host and itself while a more benign variant got to spread more easily.

When you look at an apple, are you collapsing the wave function of every particle you see or do you need to look at them more closely? How close would you have to zoom in to get the wave function to collapse? Is there a hard limit?

Does nicotine really reduce the risk of dementia and Parkinson's? I'm at a high risk for both of those and I'm very hesitant to quit because of this.
I recently started vaping and quit cigarettes, since reading vapes are safer. Should I quit everything for good? Aside from being addictive, is nicotine really harmful in any other way?
