Physicists announce for the thousandth time that they have discovered "dark energy". To affect this discovery these scientists studied what they called a "bump in the noise". By rewriting fundamental physics, adding new particles and a fifth force, they were able to discover this "bump" with a 2 sigma confidence?

Now I have to ask - what is the difference between rewriting physics to find bumps in the noise as evidence of dark energy and going back 2 thousand years and examining the entrails of a goat to find evidence of the favor of the gods.

Just think about it. Noise bumps = dark energy. They are bullshitting up. They are just making shit up.

I think interpreting noise is the same as interpreting entrails. Is this whole cosmology thing just a scam?
