So, the Higgs field is a constant field, right? When we create a Higgs boson by smashing things together, what happens to the field? Is it permanently weakened since we're extracting a Higgs boson worth of energy? What would happen if the field ran out or weakened? Would gravity just slowly become less powerful since we're losing mass? Also, is this basically the idea of zero-point energy?

What kind of effect does this have on the integrity of the results of scientific research outfits?
No matter who you are or what field you are in, you’re not always going to be making new or important discoveries.
So, when funding depends on producing results and you can’t produce results without funding, couldn’t a problem arise where people feel pressured to come back with fudged or outright fabricated data to keep their outfit going?
It’s not like there is always a way for the people who fund these things to double check the work and make sure it’s valid.
