The problem with that, is that we've already seen that the government and corporation are unable to use these tools in a transparent and ethical manner. Multinational corporations and the US government have used these technologies in an intrusive and manipulative manner, in order to spy on people and engage in data collection to be used for data driven marketing and propaganda. In the process, they routinely violate both US and international law, including the constitution. The PRISM spying program revealed by Snowden is the best example of this, but there are MANY others. Now that raises the question, if governments and corporations are unable to be responsible with cell phones and social media, then can we really expect them to be responsible with something that has a direct interface with our nervous system? Of course not. The urge to spy and manipulate would be irresistible. I already have a lot of concerns about modern social media, and the way multinational corporations and governments already behave. The last thing I would ever want to do, is to literally give them direct access to my fucking nervous system. You are serving your brain to billionaires on a fucking platter, so they can do as they please.
