air and piezoelectric energies

No.13722368 ViewReplyOriginalReport
hello monkeys,
apparently /sci/ wont fuck off from- or is hung on the differences between- science and technology, so please enjoy my ted talk.
let me draw up a picture to show you what i mean, because i am bad at explaining things! but, in essence,

>fans or turbines in air tunnels
>benefits are having something to suck more air into that tunnel, air is "monetized" there with turbines - dual effect of having the turbine suck more air into the vent (from a large area, the vent a smaller area) for airflow and power.
let me draw the picture /sci/ - im a scientist, i like to ask questions.

science and philosophy

Do you think philosophy is obsolete? Or are you more moved by natural philosophers, like Mr. Maxwell, as Dr. Witten is? What do the /sci/entists think?

Is this true? Quantum mechanics violates conservation of energy?

If you measure a particle's velocity in a really small time, its speed gets really high due to the uncertainty principle. Does that energy appear from thin air?

Need Strategy for Transferring

No.13720435 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Leaf here,

I need help figuring out the best strategy for transferring universities.

I am currently in my 2nd year of biomedical engineering at a leaf university and I want to transfer into engineering (either electrical or mechanical) at UWO (University of Western Ontario). I would prefer to transfer into first year as it’s less competitive to transfer into.

Here are my stats:

>I had a 95 average in high school. I won some awards and did some extracurriculars.

>I did poorly in first year. I had a 70 average and dropped a few courses.

>I’m doing well in second year but only taking electives + classes I dropped. A mid to high 70s average after fall semester and an average in the 80s after winter semester is very possible.

>My dad became disabled during my first year which caused a bunch of problems at home. Maybe I could use this to my advantage when transferring.

>I have a guaranteed engineering internship this summer.

I’ve already spoken to admissions and they explained the transfer process to me.

What are some viable strategies for transferring into UWO engineering with stats like mine? I’m willing to do whatever it takes.

Tell me about germ theory of disease.
Is it right?
Is it wrong? If so, what causes disease?
Sources are appreciated

Why do girls colleges even exist, an institution specially made to teach women sounds like a complete waste of resources.

How does Ritalin compare to Adderall in terms of its safeness? I have 10mg and honestly I don't want to rely on stimulants but I feel like I need it at this point, I'm out of options.
