Fusing my Spine at age 28

No.13745868 ViewReplyOriginalReport
A surgeon wants to fuse my L4 and L5 to stop the motion which has destroyed the disc and causes me chronic back pain that requires me be medicated to sleep and work. I have done a lot of reading and spine fusion seems very controversial with many horror stories but I need the pain to stop otherwise I may end my life. I also have scoliosis. I really can't do anything outside of work, when I get home and relax the pain becomes 5-10 times worse and sometimes I just sit alone and cry.

How to find information on a subject?

No.13745403 ViewReplyOriginalReport
How would you find studies and research packed with information on a particular field? When ever I try to google what I'm looking for it's always filler trash.

Are there any directories or websites that offer studies, information, research, etc into any field you want? I'm looking to study another field on my own and would appreciate any help as an autodidact. Try to avoid surface knowledge directories like wikipedia.
