I'm trying to work out the ARR & RRR of the Pfizer vaccine from this study so I can compare it against their VE for case prevention and hospitalisation. They're presenting VE as 1-OR and I can't for the life of me replicate their unadjusted VE figures to know I've done the correct calcs elsewhere.

This definitely just comes down to me being a dumbass at this point, but is any anon willing to help me derive the ARR, RRR and VE (therefore also OR) from this study?

most people are kind of dumb, which is imo caused by a lack of intellectual engagement in their formative years. giving a more rigorous, understanding based math course earlier on will make the people who take it incorporate logical thinking techniques and learn them better than the rote memorization that is typically used in elementary math classes

Is there an equation I can use to figure out basic concrete strength? For example I want to know the difference between a 3 inch concrete slab that has reo bars and steel mesh in it as compared to a 3 inch slab that does not have any steel in it. Is the difference 100%, 200%, 400%, how much stronger does steel reinforcement make steel and how can I calculate this myself?

I assume this is just out of interest but if this is for anything serious you need to use whatever formulae are laid down in Eurocode 2 if you're in Europe or ACI 318 if you're in the US.

That's why all of these experiments are generally splitting a single laser beam, directing the beam around, and then making it interfere with itself.

To give you confidence in my answer, I had the very same question and I asked my phsyics professors at a very top level university. This is what they told me

i think you have things confused. in the original Youngs double slit experiment one light was put through a diffraction slit first. this made coherent light. then that coherent light was passed through two more slits. if you don't get an interference with two light bulbs its because those light bulbs don't emit coherent light.
