The problem is that it's not from a specific material. The hindu were on the right track. The only possible conduit is something complex enough, by definition conscious. Human beings are the right conduits relating to material and immaterial matters. But obviously even humans are limited because they're far too material and thus often completely locked away. Many humans are hylics even being born as them, and few psychics exist now, and pneumatics are largely unheard of.
