Am I smarter for believing in god, or for not believing in him?
Anonymous
>>14384241 >I'm talking about personal belief systems. So am I.
>Or more scientifically, from a Bayesian perspective, where the proposition for theism is a belief Not really, no. A Bayesian model would include some prior probability that God exists, any value between 0 and 1. So is any value "belief in God?" Is there a cutoff? Where is it?
>In Bayesian statistics, propositions that we hold before seeing any data are called prior beliefs. No, you're thinking of prior probabilities. They are not propositions like "God exists."

>>14384256 Probabilities are just a way to express probabilistic statements. One can't know for sure whether God exists or not, but each individual has its own biases (prior beliefs). So, for some, they may assign a higher probability that it exists (prior probability).
My point from the start is that it is unscientific to assign 100% to one of these statements without solid evidence that proves the other statement is impossible (0%).

>>14384286 >Probabilities are just a way to express probabilistic statements Yes, and "I believe in God" is not a probabilistic statement. So what does probability have to do with theism/atheism?
>My point from the start is that it is unscientific to assign 100% to one of these statements 100% certainty of God would be a gnostic theist. There are plenty. I don't know of any gnostic atheists. Also, if evidence of God has a nonzero probability of being found, then its absence is evidence that God doesn't exist.

Redpill me on RO w/ remineralization systems. I currently get my water from a local artesian well. My friend is a water snob based off taste and it's literally the only water he will drink so I think it's good. But I am sick of hauling water and I am concerned about my plastic containers.
A little googlefu says it's a bad idea, because you will deplete your magnesium and other minerals. BUT the only source for this is literally the (((WHO))). Wouldn't a simple Mg supp be enough? Like 250mg a day? Invest in a home BMP w/ mag kit to monitor or waste of money?

about five or so years ago, maybe longer, there was a strong trend of news articles about people dying accidentally in the act of taking selfies and then the trend died off.
what is the most likely scientific explanation for the end of the trend? did all of the articles cause ppl to stop taking dangerous selfies or did the news ppl just stop reporting the accidental suicides? it seems like the kind of thing science might have studied since it involves so much human death, but i'm not sure what field of science would be the one to do the research.

i saw a grown woman yesterday with her husband or something, when i was on a line to buy food
at some time she did that selfie motion thing but i dont know if she took a picture (i was too busy lurking sci to notice)
why do people take pictures of themselves like this? in public?

Is there a way to do the AC method without guessing? There can only be one possible solution. X + Y must equal B, and XY must equal AC.
Anonymous
that said if you really insist on solving it with something directly related to X+Y=B, XY=AC you can do this X = U+V Y = U-V X+Y = (U+V)+(U-V) = 2U = B U = B/2 XY = (U+V)(U-V) = U^2 - V^2 = AC (B/2)^2 - V^2 = AC (B/2)^2 = AC + V^2 (B/2)^2 - AC = V^2 V = sign makes no difference so take + X = Y =

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBalWWHYFQc That said, there are a ton of different ways to think about how to solve quadratics, and they're generally all different ways of looking at the same idea.

>Asks a stupid question followed by "I am totally not retarded I just had to ask this because my listeners are retarded :/ "
Any serious alternative to this asshole? I thought you guys were memeing when you said he was bad. It makes me so angry that such good guests are wasted on him. I truly believe that Joe Rogan would have had a deeper conversation with those people instead of interrupting in order to ask a shallower question than the one that came before it.

I propose that the internet is not actually a dead but a pajeetified internet.
Look at how big crypto is on the internet but in reality it is barely a thing in any first world nation.
Look at shit like cscareerquestions when you get absolute shit advice from pajeets
Look at the first page of google search you get the shittiest resources like TutorialPoint or GeeksForGeeks

>>14383157 I fucking despite pajeets. They look like poop. They smell like poop. They talk like poop (their weird pinging accent reminds me of the sound of poop hitting the water). Their whole race has no reason to exist. When I open an article or a video and it's by a pajeet I instantly know it's gonna be poorly constructed copy&paste garbage thrown together by someone who doesn't even understand the topic and simply follows some tutorial blindly himself.
Fuck pajeets. Rangeban India from the internet. Rangeban any country with pajeets from the internet.

>>14383171 Is this your ask, sir?

it's part pajeetified, part dead. dead internet theory just means that social media (in particular) is utterly infested with bots, which is obviously true.
