Why does staying up very late and getting little sleep cause throbbing pain around temples and front of head for the rest of the day? What do scientists do all day when we still haven't figured out what causes headaches?
hi. if you took the dangerous type of UV and shined it into something like a wound, or through a needle going into your skin, would you get cancer and die?
the type of UV is the one with the waves that cant go through skin. B, i think
My 5yo son seems to have some kind of hernia, from what I read online it's called "inguinal hernia". It looks similar to pic rel.
The bulge sometimes goes back and disappears, if he coughs or laughs it bulges out again.
I am living in Austria, however between affirmative action in medical university and insane triage regarding "elective" surgeries, I am afraid they are going to give him a date far into the future and he will not receive the best treatment.
What is the risk for 5yo boys going from hernia to incarcerated or even strangulated? How does this risk relate to delaying the surgery?
There is a very good private hospital in my home country in eastern EU, but its a 10h drive away. However, they would treat it immediately, possibly even offer me the newest options, like mesh or whatever is considered best, which may not be covered by insurance here.
My understanding is, that once the hernia becomes strangulated, it is hard to miss (nausea, feeling unwell, etc). So my doc told me to relax, if it becomes acute, just rush to the hospital. That doesn't sound reassuring at all. Why wait, just because of the meme flu?
How risky is flying and strangulation happening while on the flight? What about cabin pressure playing a role?
Do bandages significantly decrease the risk of strangulation?
Is a 10h car ride smart, just to get an earlier (possibly much earlier) surgery date in a top notch modern private hospital?
If time is a fabric and gravity effects time then why can't we just "cut" a whole in time? Like we can surmise that wormholes can theoretically exist as a fold, can it not then be broken? Quantum tunneling happens due to the position of particles being uncertain, if the most basic building blocks are uncertain in position then time around these particles must be as well, since these particles have their own gravity which affects the time around them no?
Determining the date of Easter is actually pretty mathematically and astronomically complicated. There's an entire algorithm for it built into the Gregorian calendar that is still being corrected. Gauss even came up with his own algorithm but even he himself made some mistakes.
>Neil de Grasse Tyson says the earth is an "oblate spheroid" https://youtu.be/SoCKapivHGM?t=55 >"wider at the equator" (2014)
. >Google Image search; >"actual representation of earth" yields the top 2 images, >"3d represenation of earth" yields the bottom 2 images.
.
Why does NASA still put out perfect spheres? If the earth is not a perfect sphere, then why do they represent it as such?

Note to jannies; (Not part of the discussion) (This is strictly for jannies to read) >Jannies you are pathetic for deleting my threads (truly pathetic) >Stop trying to control the discussion (it only makes you seem like you're trying to hide something) >If the thread is stupid, no one will reply to it, and it will go to page 11 (this is the basic mechanics of the image-board) >You don't need to delete it, it will delete itself (again, this is how the board works - without bumps, threads are archived) >If you keep deleting the thread, it will only embolden me more to consider the earth is not a sphere like NASA implies, nor is it an "oblate spheroid" as Neil de Grasse Tyson implies. (This is your choice to delete threads) >You force my hand with your impudence. ( discussions that don't conform to your world view are "trolling") (pathetic)
