Has anyone thought of using principles of cellular automata for programmable matter like engineered bacteria or nanobots? I'm not a material scientist but I imagine with the right patterns you could grow some reasonably robust substances.
I'm probably just retarded though

If you take a square root of 100+10^-50, the digits make a funny triangle shaped pattern. Why does this happen? It happens for all 100+10^n where 'n' is any negative integer.
