How come theres no theory that attempts to classify spacetime functions under some change of coordinates, like rotations or Lorentz transformations. From a mathematical standpoint this field seems very clunky, like "eh try out this function and see of it doesnt change".
Sometimes you can come up with easy solutions for the obvious case, like any function that only depends on a spatial radius will be invariant against rotations, i have not see anything so simple with other types of transformations.
>get raised by grandma and grandpa, because your parents left you
>grandpa dies because of cancer when you were 14
>go to a technical school because you always wanted to be an IT specialist and after school get a decent work to earn some money to help your grandma financialy
>your tutor is also your math teacher
>what could go wrong, thats the best scenario it could ever happen to me
>never be late for classes
>be a good student, help everyone how you can
>always attend for after school math classes
>hope that everything will be alright and im gonna pass easily
>after 4 depressing years in my final class im failing maths
>teacher picks you to answer very hard math exercises
>stressed out like hell and have cold sweat on your forehead
>hands shake like a fucking paralytic
>after spending 15 minutes, everything is almost done
>beproudofyourself.exe
>silence appears
>teacher walks towards me, and tells me that everything is wrong
>sit down mad as fuck and almost fucking cry because you did a small mistake that she could've just told me to correct
>teacher tells you that she takes me to the blackboard for about two years only to make fun of me and treat me like garbage, because im weak from maths and in this scenario she wants to encourage me to study more
>end up with five ''1'' grades at the middle of your semester
>lose faith in everything
>on the way home think about fucking ending yourself because you disappoint everyone and still you have achieved nothing
>go back home and almost cry your fucking eyes out when you hear from your grandma ''how was day at school?'' because she is the last person in your life that you want to make proud
im sorry guys if i did it wrong, its my first 4chan post, i just wanted to share todays story with someone and i dont have friends to talk about it.
if i made a lot of mistakes i also apologize, because im writting this stressed out as fuck.
Wonga is a game that can be played by 2 or more players. The numbers and faces on the cards represent a numerical value:
An Ace is valued as 1,
Cards from 2 to 10 are valued as their rightful number (eg a six of clubs is valued as 6),
Jacks, Queens and Kings represent a value over 7 (for simplicity's sake, lets say they are valued as 10),
And a joker can represent whatever card you want.
The goal of the game is to get rid of your cards to reduce your numerical value to 7 or below and then call "Wonga!" And show your cards. If you call "Wonga!" And another player has a numerical value that is lower than yours, and then they call "Wonga!" After you, they win. If your cards are valued as the same, it is a draw. However, if their value is higher than yours, you beat them. The game continues until there is only one player left. Alternatively, the game ends if one player wins or there is a draw.
There are two card piles in the middle of the table:
One pile for discarded cards that the player has placed during their turn (íll explain later). This is visible to all players.
Another pile is for a random card (this is not shown to any players)
After a turn, a player must discard at least 1 card or more and pickup a maximum of 1 card from either the discarded card pile or the random card pile.
From the discarded card pile, you can only grab cards from the previous player's turn (eg if the player before you discarded 2 jacks, you can only grab one of their jacks or a random card from the other pile).
What’s a entry level book into causality? I ask because I’m reading this book by Jung and it’s got me BTFO. Too many big words and topics on probability, chance and causality that I don’t know about
apparently 0 divided by 0 is undefined. this doesn't make any sense to me. The answer should just be 0. I understand that to divide anything by zero is going to result in the answer being undefined, but zero is the literal absence of "anything" Therefore there is nothing to divide by zero and should thus remain as zero as the final result.
I had to read Piaget the other day for an assignment. Comparing him with any social science paper now is just depressing. He wrote like he was writing a letter about something he truly cared about, not just word-salading to gatekeep. Where did we go so wrong?
Is studying anything STEM at a German university worth it, especially with ADHD?
Currently contemplating whether or not to continue studying my dreadfully boring information science at a university of applied science (read state/community college for the americans and about as rigorous) I applied to mainly at the urge of my parents "because I'm such a book nerd", or switch to a regular university to study something STEM related I would be actually interested in such as material science, chemistry or computer engineering.
What worries me mainly is this:
1. Each of these subjects would take me at least five years to complete my undergraduate studies as the official six or seven semesters to complete your B.S. are infamously bogus.
2. German universities spent most their first few semesters notoriously filtering out students even remotely struggling, meaning I could very well waste a year and thousands of euros in living expenses for fuck all.
3. One of the big ways german universities are so darn cheap (besides being run down, ancient or often both) is that they are notoriously barebone, for example individual support for students is almost nonexistent, making neurodivergent studying extra fun.
Second alternative I have been thinking about is dropping out altogether, at least for now, and instead look for some decently paid apprenticeship.
For example the waterways authority in a smaller, very affordable city not too far away from where I study, is looking for prospective mechanics and canal builders, and my idea would be to complete these three years and later study based on that something like environmental engineering, funded by skilled part time work in those professions.
Look at this. LOOK AT THIS SHIT. Thousands and thousands of galaxies, each with billions of stars and quite possibly trillions of earthlike planets. It is mathematically impossible for this to be the only planet with sapient life. Somewhere out there are an uncountable number of alien societies that have lived and died, entire worlds swallowed by supernovas or black holes. They may also have lived with fear and love and joy and pain and their own bullshit problems. Why the fuck does any of this exist? Why? Is it a simulation? a gift from an all-powerful creator? Is it just an infinite loop of something that just always has and always will exist?
Make your jokes but this is the reality we live in. Just what the fuck is the point of all this...existence?
