Do photons "know" you're watching them?

No.14163381 ViewReplyOriginalReport
What are some of the most reasonable theories right now for why light apparently acts like a particle when you observe it, and a wave when you don't? I'm basically scientifically and mathematically illiterate, but even to an idiot like me the whole "dude the light knows that you're watching it" schtick that pop-science communicators run with sounds absolutely retarded.

transhumanists spamming /sci/

No.14166321 ViewReplyOriginalReport
The transhumanists that are attempting to use /sci/ as a venue to propagandize the unwitting with their transhumanist propaganda have successfully conspired to have the thread warning about their propagandization attempts deleted.

I think the 'lon just offends a segment of /sci/ posters because he's autistic and nerdy and not model handsome, and yet succeeds in non-academic contexts anyway. He's like a walking messenger, regardless of what he intends, screaming "You could be me, but you're not, which means that there are fundamental problems with you."

To rephrase: I think Elon Musk offends a segment of haters on this board because they perceive him to basically be on their level, but he is massively more successful than them (in their eyes). Hence the need to shit on everything he's achieved. Because otherwise they would have to face the much scarier contradiction of being inferior to him in some way (in terms of achieving the things that he has).

Let's assume that life at its most fundamental level can be described as a particular set of wave like elements, which propagate from the smallest to the greatest scale, then we can say that those waves MUST have a primary cause.

Like sea waves, which are mostly causes by air currents and the moon's influence.

I ask then, what's the main cause of this terribly uncontrollable reality being cyclic?

Does the exosome theory explain the bacteriophages too? Can a bacteria pop these things off through their petidoglycan?

Scientifically speaking, why are some people more attracted to mixes between two races rather than one race specifically?

You are the universe experiencing itself.

You can show your stillness/inactivity
or
You can show your ability to express life
