>how is propaganda so effective despite the efforts of intellectuals
Efforts to achieve what exactly? Intellectuals are scholars who care more about advancing their career than ineracting with the day to day struggles of humanity. Whether that involves niche academic pursuits, fame, wealth, it doesn't matter; they are equally far removed from the society who pampers and enables them.

They are not politicians. They are not generals. They are not engineers. They are not farmers. They are not representatives of any class but their own, and care little for any criticism or judgement from anyone but themselves, except when it threatens their livelihood.

Did you really think these people are willing, much less capable, to lead any charge against the market forces which produce these media narratives? The same forces which enable their existence at all? No, their "efforts" are tantamount to sending thoughts and prayers on facebook. Sure, it's got more citations, and maybe even there is some truth to it,
but their work will never inspire any revolution or real change which could not, and would not, come about without them.

In short, all they are good for is to provide some fancy words in thr pamphlet carried by the idiots following the flavor-of-the-decade ideology.

hey guys, I'm hitting the limits of my brainpower, wondering yall can help me out. my friends and I are discussing how strong Popeye is based off of the following feat: he took a pine tree, bent it, tied a string to it to both ends, and used another pine tree as an arrow which fired and hit the sun, breaking it like glass

so far we've determined the following information based off the feat in question:

- according to google the AVERAGE lbs to yards multiplier for the draw weight of a longbow is 6.5
- height of pine trees = 22 feet
- Average pine wood weighs 54 pounds per cubic foot, 20 feet = 54 * 20 = 1080 pounds
(for easy math we'd say call it a 1500 pound tree)
- distance from Earth to the Sun = 160,160,000,000 yards
- time it took for the tree arrow to hit the sun = 2 seconds

PLEASE HELP, what is the draw weight of the bow? thanks in advance

Why climate change is inherently racist

I found this insightful article a few hours back, and it's had me thinking ever since: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20220125-why-climate-change-is-inherently-racist

How can we as white men take responsibility for our actions in a way that combats climate change for the betterment o people of color, and why is this such a controversial point of view in the scientific community and among educated people?

Picture unrelated.

Is Oversleeping a Meme?

No.14163780 ViewReplyOriginalReport
As long as you feel refreshed when waking up what's the problem in sleeping more than (((8 hours))), how can it be bad?
If you manage to sleep it means you were supposed to, take other animals, when they're not eating or fucking they sleep whenever they want to, why should it be a problem for humans?
I repeat as long as you're not narcoleptic/chronically tired/feeling sick or whatever why am I supposed to buy the oversleeping meme?

Could we be inside a black hole? And why do people say that black holes have a singularity at their center? It makes no sense to me. Matter should not accumulate at the center but the event horizon. Singularities in the real world don't make sense in the first place.
