Okay /sci/ so what would happen if somebody built a big fucking light mill in the middle of the desert and painted the vanes the darkest black on one side and the whitest white on the other side?

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome has been studied for decades and they still can't really figure out what it is. Some think there is a psychosomatic component to the disease.
"Long covid" can have similar symptoms to, or perhaps causes, CFS, as well as having other symptoms. It seems feasible that there are physiological causes behind this. At the same time, the social response to covid has, in part, been one of fear and hysteria.
Some of the symptoms of long covid include depression and anxiety, as well as very common sequelae such as "fatigue" and "headaches". It is easy to imagine that someone who believes they will suffer from a disease with these symptoms might exaggerate or outright manifest these symptoms.
At the same time, they're doing MRIs on people diagnosed with long covid and are apparently finding measurable differences in their lungs: https://www.bbc.com/news/health-55017301
This is not to mention other organs or systems covid is claimed to damage, like the brain or the heart.
Clearly some people who contract covid will end up with long term illness; covid would have to be an especially mild infection otherwise. However, we still don't know how common or severe it is and, to the layman, most of the studies and arguments around it are painfully unconvincing. To what extent is long covid psychosomatic?

Im thinking about applying to a transfer or just straight up studying there for immigration purposes and I'll be getting into my local colleges Biotech course this year.

Coronavirus is the proof that /sci/ is a bunch of retards who don't understand statistics.
>soccer players are dropping like flies due to the vaccine
This is very easy to refute without even resorting to checking their bogus "sources".
The chance of developing heart problems due to the vaccine is only 1:20,000. Now compare to the virus caused complications: a staggering 1:200! That's over a 100 times higher! So it is pretty obvious that even if there were any vaccine related incidents they have been dwarfed by the virus related deaths and complications. And nobody bothers to check any of those soccer deaths in obscure countries if they were caused by the vaccine or the virus. Anti vaxxers are dumb fucks. Q.E.D.

is anyone here familiar with the German mathematical landscape? i am a bachelor maths student at Erlangen (not German myself, though) who will probably finish his studies in a year and i've been thinking about where i'd like to continue my studies (ideally i'd like to get a PhD)
i know that Bonn and LMU/TUM are considered to have strong maths departments, what are some others that come to mind? strangely, i've heard of this (afaik) small university of Kaiserslautern that was established only in the 70s, but has a strong department. i've also heard of the Berlin School of Mathematics, who have this compound graduate programme where you can do a masters+PhD at once in ~4 years or something like that. anything you guys would like to share?

>Up to a million dead in Russia
>Early pandemic most severe in Iran and Italy
>Third wave most severe in India
>Black Americans died at a high rate, black Africans did not
>Compared to European death rates, very low death rates in even densely populated elderly east Asian population
Isn't it time to consider that Covid 19 is more dangerous for people of caucasian descent than others?
