How did people do more complex math with Roman numerals? Like how did finance, architecture and engineering works with such a system? The Greeks had a more reasonable numeral system so I don't understand why the Romans didn't just copy Greek math.

I couldn't solve this problem for days but could figure out in a second how an induction stove or a ramjet engine works. My mathematician friend however could solve these problems by just looking at them for a little while but couldn't get his head around electromagnetic fields.
