The topic of climate change regarding temperature is one thing. But the topic in the media HARDLY ever covers the fact that the air quality is shite. Especially in cities and sub-urban areas.

Lichen is a good indicator of good air quality. It thrives in good air quality. You see lots of it in rural parts.

I live on a main road. When I clean the outside of my window it is always black soot on the tissue. That's just particulate matter. All the other shitty gases alongside CO2 and monoxide making for poor air composition.

So poor quality won't have a good effect on us.

We should just have good ole nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon and a bit of CO2 for plants.

Is chamomile a stimulant for black people?

No.14237883 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Is chamomile a stimulant for black people? Papers say that alcohol is and it also takes less to get them drunk but the stimulation (vs sedation in white people) leads to binge drinking sessions. Does the same logic apply to all GABA substances like, say, chamomile? Can somebody do the science and math on this?

A Mathematician's Apology

Just read it, a few minutes ago. He doesn't prove that Maths is beautiful and instead mostly writes about themes Maths is strongly associated with. I agree overall, but the work could have been lengthier. 7/10.

Deck of cards probability.

If I pull a card at random and ask you to guess the card you have a 1/52 chance of getting it right.

I then remove 10 random cards from the deck and discard them without you seeing them. I then pick a card and ask you to guess it.

Are your odds still 1/52? Does the absence of unknown cards affect the probability at all?

Vampire Math Question

No.14237735 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I live in Transylvania with a population of 7 million people and I have 7 girlfriends. 1/3 of one percent of the female population is a blood sucking vampire, meaning there are 23,100 female vampires in my country, ( the distribution is a random) what are the odds that I one of my girlfriends is a vampire? If I have 10 friends who are also each dating 7 different women, what would the odds be that one of my friends was dating a vampire? Would my odds of dating a vampire scale up and down with an increasing sample size (population and number of gfs)? What's the easiest way to describe the parameters and the formula for a solution. Thank you. Asking for a friend.
