If telegony is real it's probably fairly subtle. From what I've seen it has to do with how her immune response developed in response to exposure to his sperm. The kid isn't going to have his genes, as that obviously wouldn't make sense. Rather the child will develop in an environment that was shaping itself to carry his child.

It's similar to worrying about if she has picked up any strains of herpes, mono, etc.

Nope, meteorologists at the time said he approached areas that were already had rain forecast. Also, he went to San Diego during January, the rainy season. Also, the flood in San Diego was caused by a huge storm system that was not localized in the San Diego area. So it's a bunch of bullshit that has been exaggerated over time as these things tend to be.

How good are meteorologist's forecasts TODAY?

You realize it takes time to travel to a place, negotiate with the local council, select a site and build an evaporating tower?

I'm not saying I'm certain he was legitimate, I'm saying it's difficult to dismiss it as fraud out of hand for a number of reasons. The fact that cloud seeding quite literally was developed a short while after his supposed work makes it quite plausible that he discovered some solution better than any recreated independently.

The reason for considering string theory seriously is that from very simple principles (considering a quantised relativistic one dimensional object) you get a very large amount of nice properties coming out, not least of which is gravity. Because it gives you so many nice properties that you would want in a candidate theory for unifying all the forces physics has felt compelled to take it seriously even when the experimental evidence for it is lacking.

Depends on your career aspirations. In my field (ecology), a BS gets you field tech jobs. An MS will allow you to lead research crews, maybe small projects if you demonstrate you're responsible. A PhD is required to be project PI.
