Would you qualify linear regression as a form of machine learning?

No.14263066 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Is drawing a trend line really considered a kind of machine learning? Because anyone with excel can do as such. Does that mean the bar for machine learning is really low or are computers are just that advanced?

Listen here you little science clowns. You can't convince me that the imagined doesn't exist. Imaginary things exist and are real. I can't see something that doesn't exist, I can't hear something that doesn't exist, I can't smell something that doesn't exist, I can't taste something that doesn't exist. When I look away from an object, it doesn't cease to exist, it becomes part of the imagination. And if it doesn't exist, then what the hell is it? A fucking divination from the unknown? There isn't anything in the world that doesn't exist, it breaks the laws of thermodynamics!

This board is like a congregation of hagged elitists who shit on people for not having what they view to be "basic knowledge and skills" and call them "retarded"
So is this really your existence? Not being an innovator or presenting new ideas in science, just priding yourself in being in the group of people not called "retarded" on this board because you have some esoteric skills deemed valuable by your superiors (even though you as an individual mean basically nothing because you are more afraid of being criticized for being dumb than not being original or innovative). Almost none of you have accomplished anything of your own. You just boast and call people idiots despite the fact that you fell for the college degree scam and won't produce anything original, you're just one of those priding himself as being one of the millions of people who can do something in math. Pathetic.

What is your opinion /sci/? It seems to be working great for me though I use it sparingly out of the fear that it might fuck me up even more. The research is linked on the page I pasted.

What parts of science are fake?

No.14268351 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Lots of science is either transparently fake or highly questionable. Everyone knows that dark matter, covid-19, global warming are fake, but are there other lesser known aspects of science which are also completely fraudulent, but somehow escape publicity or criticism and maintain the appearance of legitimacy? What about dendrochronology, how real is that? Is otorhinolaryngology legit?
