How can american publishers even compete? When I read american textbooxs they're often detached from reality and very theoretical. Springer books treat almost always BOTH theory and implementation.
Why is that?

How do scientists correlate the probability of an event to a specific distribution? Do they just do a bunch of trials and see the shape it makes?
