Discharging a Lithium battery

No.14321241 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Hi, I'm using a lithium battery for a project. It's a 18V(measures 20V) 1,5Ah battery from a drill. The components will draw around 700mA, but I'm worried the battery pack will catch fire or explode, because a lot of current is drawn. What measures can I take to prevent a disaster?

It's a black&decker 18V 1.5Ah battery in good shape barely used. Sorry if I'm on the wrong board

How can science be used to combat Russian disinformation?

No.14320677 ViewReplyOriginalReport
What areas of science are most relevant to combating Russian disinformation and conspiracy theories? Obviously a lot of communication today happens on the internet, and the internet is entirely governed by algorithms. The question is, how can we make algorithms that are more resilient against the spread of disinformation and conspiracy theories? I'm sure there's a lot of research on this topic, but I don't know where to begin. Any pointers would be appreciated.

numbers arent real. maths men are unneeded
numbers arent real

math people are the most pathetic of all the STEM field fags!

fellow academics... do YOU trust the study field which
>arrives at some (seemingly random) conclusion, that is wrong and illogical, to push that with no proof and a shallow belief... over and over, to win their arguments in "yelling contests" to "prove their point" just because (in its wrong form, where they assume that it is right), it does "prove their point"?
this is anti-academic and so are math men
>resorts to name-calling the most
>are just flat-out not needed

Reminder that this is the future of humans.

No.14320715 ViewReplyOriginalReport
Humanity will be genetically modified to make women big and men small.
Men will be modified to be small, like ~3'8", but proportional and lean, and highly athletic, with very fast reaction speeds, and cute-handsome faces.
Women will be modified to be tall, like 6'5"+, with big hips, strong legs, long torsos, and beautiful. They will have large wombs and be programmed to super-ovulate, releasing a few eggs each cycle, so that when they're impregnated they gestate a few babies at a time.
All of them will be highly intelligent.

This is the ideal phenotype for humans in the modern and future world. They have a natural fertility rate far greater than any other society's, they require fewer resources and less land to support larger populations, while having large advantages in economic output and military might. Extreme female biased sexual size dimorphism is extremely fit.

I know that many of you hate one reason or another (most likely because of my spam lol) but I'm not wrong about this. This IS the ideal dimorphism/phenotype for humans going forward. Guys please just relax and allow yourselves to open up to this. I get that it's going to be a big change and it's very strange in many ways but those feelings will pass. There's literally nothing wrong with women being big and men being small. The small men aren't going to use their high levels of athleticism and skill to turn their guns against women and hurt them, and while the women may express a certain level of dominance over the men in some situations we don't have to worry about some hyena-like structure where the women are viciously cruel to the smaller males. They'll probably get along with each other better than men and women do now.

lifespan extension

No.14320974 ViewReplyOriginalReport
in middle school I literally said "getting barely rich enough to get the first viable lifespan extension surgery" when teacher asked me what my dream was, I know, cringe.

that was like 10 years ago, now I think it would premiere at 2070 or something and I will narrowly miss it? living like a 50yo in 100yo body stuff I mean.
