Mind you, this is "strong AI" or "General-Purpose AI", one which is designed from the ground up to emulate the functions of biological intelligences like human beings or other complex life.
There's also "weak AI" or "Narrow-Purpose AI" which is basically all of what's been implemented in the real world right now, clever, complex algorithms designed to mimic one particular facet of intelligence, like learning, or pattern recognition, or playing one kind of game, sorting boxes with QR codes, or optimizing 3D models, or optimizing flight software, etc.
There's also "Artificial Superintelligence" which is when GPAI reaches and then fundamentally surpasses human intelligence. You really have to look to fiction for examples of ASI.
