Is russian useful as a mathematician?

No.13348252 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I'm in undergrad doing a weird mix of rigurous math and physics and I decided to take russian as an elective. Will I be able to flee to get a cute ruski gf that makes me kompot and gets me pampered by her babushka while I work in insurance and publish for fun?

Where can I study?

No.13345651 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I used to love science as a kid. Specifically I was into physics and astronomy. I stopped reading about it because I didn't wanna come off as a nerd. I was a very dumb teenager.
Now I am in uni with a useless major. Don't get me wrong, I like what I'm studying now. But I figured that, since I have a lot of free time, I wanna go back to my original interests. I'd like to study physics and astronomy all over again, but I don't know where.
Recommend me any textbooks/websites/youtube channels or whatever that you find helpful in studying.

Is there free software that simulates a physics lab in a way that I can use it with a book that describes physics experiments but assumes you have a real lab at your disposal?

Spectrophotometry

>Spectronic 20

Any bio/chemfags here with experience with these bad boys? I know they have been replaced by a variety of more accurate machines, but other than refurbished Spec 20s or the occasional cheap digital specs I see on amazon, I don't see much in my price range.

For reference, I am a hobbyist who just discovered how accessible these are as analytical instruments, and would like to purchase one to begin my dream of analytical device accrual. I'm going to start by practicing on known samples, do some brass Cu analysis, hopefully some basic plant constituent, protein, and water impurity analysis as well in the future.

It seems like the Spec 20s were very common for a very long time, and I don't mind the analog approach (kinda dig the vu meter look). But also want to know if it's worth getting a cheaper low grade digital one, or if it's worth just saving up for a $1000+ spec.

Thank you in advanced.

How to make your language match the promise of its message?

That way if I say, "I'm going to commit suicide, kill myself, and end my existence," that it actually happens?

Is there a way to achieve mathematical convergence of expression and outcome?
