>>13356113I definitely don't think the scientific method should be abandoned, nor should scientific endeavors, but the establishment of Science does need some serious fixing, as well as this perception that Scientists are somehow above other "regular" people simply for being Scientists. The perception around it all really does bring the same feelings as Religion and the idea of a superior Priest class.
And to be clear, I capitalize Science and Scientists there because I want to differentiate them from science and scientists. The latter is the most effective method we have of observing the world and people who practice as such in a framework of evidence. The former leads to things like people pulling up 1 study and thinking it invalidates all arguments to the contrary, or the idea that "Scientists" should be uniformly trusted in their opinions and not scrutinized by anyone "beneath" them.
