Help me understand this

No.14338186 ViewReplyOriginalReport
I find this subject interesting

https://arxiv.org/pdf/2203.10602.pdf

Yet, I can't understand anything because the concepts and methods used are alien to me and I don't even know what kind of background I have to develop to start understanding these things.

Do anybody here has any recommendations about what I have to study to understand the paper? Because it can't just be "mathematics" or "formal logic" but clearly something more specific in those fields.

02:02:02 on 03/03/2023 will mark the 3rd second of the 3rd minute of the 3rd hour of the 3rd day of the 3rd month of the 3rd year of the 3rd decade of the 3rd millennium on the 3rd planet.
This kind of thing only happens once every thousand years, the last such times it happened was 01:01:01 on 02/02/1012 and the time before that was 00:00:00 on 01/01/0001 (so it's also the THIRD time this is will happen!).
The next time it will happen would be 03:03:03 on 04/04/3034.

Please explain to me how a coordinate of a point can be a sine of another, i'm too sleep deprived

No.14338261 ViewReplyOriginalReport
The answer in the book shows me a graph that's a sine wave but it fluctuates twice as fast.

How????

How can y be the sine of x? The sine of x requires y to calculate, how? That's a recursive definition

What even is x? Any value? Only some values?

The sine of 2 * 0 is 0, how can both x and y be 0? Then the cosine would also be 0, they can't both be 0, or the addition of their squares will not equal 1.

Medical Discussion General -/MDG/

No.14333559 ViewReplyOriginalReport
This is a thread where you can ask your personal medical questions. since Medicine General does not offer advice.

Obviously be aware you should not use any advice online as the end all be all but use this thread for questions if you feel the need to ask.

I'll start:

I had a sexual encounter with a girl last Friday. We only had oral sex but her vaginal fluids did touch my hand which then touched my penis. Then 2-3 days later (I say that because the encounter was Friday night to sat morning) I started feeling like a little sick. Since then I've had muscle aches, been a little tired, and have had some chills. I have not had a stuffed nose or a fever or any of that.

I am freaked out like crazy that I have HIV/Aids because I know one of the symptoms is flu like symptoms. I literally cannot stop thinking about it and it's driving me crazy I want to cry.

Does anybody know if it's normal to get Aid's symptoms 2-3 days after? Are AIDs symptoms usually more intense flu-like symptoms. I am hoping that I am just a little sick but I am freaking out and I'm afraid that's making it worse. I saw that symptoms would be expected to start 2-4 weeks after the exposure but maybe this is a freak case?

Are there any doctors here who know AIDs patients who can say what the chances I have it are?

Is there a book on how to solve various math problems? and I don't mean exercises like "compute this integral" or whatever but problems like "is there a natural number, n, such that n is the ratio of blah to blah blah blah". Know what I'm saying? I want to know how to solve problems like that.
